In a shocking turn of events, a crew member working on Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming series, Wonder Man, died on the sets. It has been revealed that the Yahya Abdul-Mateen II starrer series was not shooting at the time of his death. As per reports, the man has been identified as 41-year-old Juan Carlos Osorio, hailing from Temple City. The crew member was reportedly working on the sets situated at Radford Studios in Studio City when the accident took place. LA Police has confirmed the news of his death.
According to Deadline, Juan fell from a catwalk on sets and died at the scene. A Marvel spokesperson reacted to the news of his death. In a statement to the media, the production house said, “Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family and friends, and our support is behind the investigation into the circumstances of this accident.”
It is reported that Wonder Man was to start production next month. The studio had to delay the shoot owing to the WGA and SAG AFTRA strike. For the unversed, the 10-episode series is headlined by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and it revolves around a wealthy comic book character Simons Williams who loses his company to Tony Stark’s Stark Industries. He then heads to work with Marvel villain Baron Zemo and earned his superpowers.
The series is created by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest. Besides Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, the series will also star Ben Kingsley, Demetrius Grosse and Ed Harris.
Besides Wonder Man, Marvel Studios is said to be working on X-Men ’97, Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, Ironheart, Daredevil: Born Again, and Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, among others. On the big screen, the production house gears to release Deadpool 3. The film stars Ryan Reynolds in the lead and brings back Hugh Jackman as a the Wolverine yet again. The film is slated to release this summer.
