Mayank Agarwal Admitted to ICU in Agartala, Currently Out of Danger: Report
As per several reports, Mayank Agarwal felt unease and vomited immediately after drinking from a bottle, which is suspected to have a poisonous substance.

Indian batter Mayank Agarwal was hospitalized in Agartala on Tuesday after complaining of a burning sensation in his mouth and throat. Agarwal, who has been leading Karnataka in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024, boarded the flight to Surat when he experienced sickness and was rushed to Agartala’s ILJ Hospital where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

According to media reports, Agarwal felt unease and vomited immediately after drinking from a bottle, which is suspected to have a poisonous substance. It has also been learned that the 32-year-old has been given some tests and is currently out of danger.

“The team was on the flight and apparently Agarwal started feeling uneasy and vomited a couple of times sitting on the flight. Since he started feeling sick, he de-boarded,” news agency PTI quoted a Tripura Cricket Association official as saying.

“From KSCA MR Shahvir Tarapore called and we quickly sent two of our representatives to the ILS hospital. He is under observation and we are told doctors are running some tests. Now there are multiple theories as to what he might have consumed,” the official added.

Agarwal recently led Karnataka to a 29-run win against Tripura in the fourth round of Ranji Trophy 2024 at Bir Bikram Stadium in Agartala. He was supposed to travel with the whole team to Surat when the incident happened. Karnataka will be taking on Railways in their next fixture at Lalabhai Contractor Stadium, , starting Friday.
