BTS Star V And Singer UMI’s Duet Wherever U R Is Out, Listen Here

South Korean boyband member V is currently serving in the military. He joined the training camp on December 11. But the vocalist who celebrates his 28th birthday today, December 30, is making sure that his fans do not miss his absence, while he fulfills his 18-month-long stay in the regiment. On that note, V’s fans aka the BTS ARMY were treated to a special song on his birthday. The music sensation collaborated with fellow singer UMI for the soulful track titled Wherever U R. The lyric video of the feel-good number which was dropped by UMI on YouTube has been melting the hearts of BTS lovers globally.

Assembling under one roof, V’s smooth vocals and UMI’s soulful voice created a tender yet powerful melody making Wherever U R an instant hit. The song navigates the realms of yearning for a loved one, their absence, and finally the reassurance of connecting with the special person very soon. The video showcased a picture of UMI in a computer format, followed by the lyrics appearing on the screen in a similar format. Wherever U R’s pleasant rhythms and beats were enough to take away one’s winter blues. It also gave BTS fans a sense of contentment that V was still connected with them, despite being in the military.

Soon after the lyric video was released, fans were left flooring over the beautiful song, especially on V’s birthday. “That is just beautiful. Thank you, UMI. And our wonderful V, who gives us a gift on his birthday. The Army is incredibly blessed," noted one user. “Thanks to UMI for giving us a Collab with our V and giving us this masterpiece! Only ARMYS know how hard Taehyung worked before joining the military to give us content," chimed in another. “The way their voice weld with each other, it’s so soothing and mesmerizing I fall in love with UMI and V," lauded a third individual.

In a statement, BTS’ management agency Big Hit Music said, “V and UMI enjoyed listening to one another’s music. Through this collaboration, the two of them conveyed the messages they wanted to tell their fans through music." In addition to the lyric video, UMI also released a separate short visual clip, featuring V where the duo was seen singing to Wherever U R, making adorable gestures.

Not only V, but the other BTS members including Jungkook, Jimin, Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, and RM are currently serving in the military.
